How do you score points in Skull King?
With Skull King scoring, a successful bid earns 20 points per trick bid. A missed bid costs 10 points per trick of difference between the bid and the result.
A zero bid depends on the round: making it earns 10 × the round number; missing it loses the same amount. For example, a successful zero bid in round 5 is worth 50 points, and a missed one is worth −50 points.
Rascal scoring: another way to count points
The potential is 10 × the number of cards dealt. An exact bid earns the full potential, being one trick off earns half of it, and being two or more tricks off earns zero.
In round 6, bidding 2 tricks and winning 2 therefore earns 60 points, winning 1 or 3 earns 30 points, and winning 4 earns zero, before any bonuses.
Skull King bonus points
The 14s of the three standard suits are worth 10 points each and the black 14 (trump) is worth 20 points. A Mermaid captured by a Pirate is worth 20 points, each Pirate captured by the Skull King is worth 30 points, and the Skull King captured by a Mermaid is worth 40 points.
With Skull King scoring, bonuses require an exact bid. With Rascal scoring, an exact bid earns all bonuses, being one trick off earns half, and a bigger gap earns no bonus. The calculator applies these rules by default and shows bid points and bonuses separately; if your table plays differently, a toggle lets you count all of a player’s bonuses for the round. The +5 and −5 rows are free adjustments (variants, your edition’s abilities) and always count.

Don’t lose your games once the points are counted
The web calculator helps you out at the table, but it doesn’t create any game history or stats to look back on later. In Board Games Buddy, scoring is part of tracking your game: keep your results, link your friends’ profiles and look back at your stats together.
For your next game night, score directly in the free app and keep much more than a final score.
